If you review contracts regularly, then you know that the hardest part is not reading every clause. It's knowing which provisions deserve your attention, how they fit into the rest of the agreement, and if they meet the requirements of your company’s risk assessment.
That's why we launched this blog.
We'll share tips from the field on contract review, legal AI, strategic alignments, and workflows that assist legal pros spend less time on the grind and still maintain control on the decisions connected to the legal terrain. Rather than discussing AI in theory, we'll focus on real contract language, real review scenarios, and the practical questions lawyers face every day.
Why we built iDealLegal.ai
Most contract reviews involve the same issue: finding the quite small number of provisions that appear worthy of scrutinous legal analysis and simultaneously preventing the theft of time on language that follows expected standards. When you're reviewing dozens of agreements every week, big-picture aspects can easily be overlooked, especially if the seeds of risk are planted in several areas and could bear fruit under certain conditions that you did not anticipate
That's why iDealLegal.ai was built around the way lawyers already work. Instead of inviting lawyers to switch to another platform, it works directly inside Microsoft Word using familiar tools to keep a close watch on changes. It finds hazards, explains why they matter, and offers functional edits while leaving every legal decision to the reviewer.
For instance
Let’s imagine that we are reviewing a 30-page Master Services Agreement. The limitation of liability clause appears reasonable on its own, but an auto-renewal provision combined with an early termination restriction significantly shifts commercial risk against your client. This type of issue is easy to miss during a busy review. iDealLegal.ai designates the connections between the clauses, explains the business impact, and proposes a redline that better protects your client's position before you finish reading the document.
How contract review works
The process begins with five simple picks:
- Opt for the party you represent.
- Select the review type: policy-based, general, or template evaluation.
- Decide on the level of analysis.
- Review automatically detected and risk-ranked issues.
- Apply multiple suggested redlines at one go through Track Changes.
Behind the scenes, three specialized AI reviewers work together rather than generating a single generic answer.
- Junior Associate — identifies drafting issues, missing provisions, inconsistent language, and clause-level risks.
- Legal Associate — checks the agreement against your firm's playbooks, preferred positions, and also usual market standards.
- Senior Counsel — analyzes the agreement as a whole, identifying cross-clause risks that only become visible when multiple sections are considered together.
Built by a practicing technology lawyer
Unlike many legal AI products built primarily by engineers, iDealLegal.ai was created by Sergey Ovcharov, who has spent more than 15 years negotiating, going through, and being in control of commercial contracts in the technology sector. His career spans one of the country's leading law firms, leadership positions in gaming and software companies, and years as Chief Legal Counsel for an international game studio. That practical legal experience is reflected in every review playbook the platform uses, helping AI identify the issues experienced lawyers actually look for—not just unusual wording.
Security matters because your documents matter
One of the first questions lawyers ask is: 'What happens to my contracts after I upload them?' That's exactly the right question. With iDealLegal.ai, our Zero Data Retention approach does not utilize documents in order to provide training to AI models. The system protects documents as they are uploaded and processed in an isolated environment and deletes them after analysis. Our infrastructure meets the requirements of SOC 2 security practices because protecting confidential legal documents is a basic requirement—not an optional feature. If any security or compliance questions arise, we're always happy to answer them directly.
Glimpse into the future
The legal industry is growing fast, but its main aim remains unaltered: helping clients make better decisions when they are also in control of the risk. Through this blog, we'll share practical guidance, real contract case studies, and conceptions into where AI genuinely improves legal work—and where your expertise will have a decisive bearing on the result.
And, we are so excited to have you here!
